We're back to planning

Posted on March 4th, 2023

After the last 2 years of waiting and focusing on other aspects of our life we are finally back to wedding planning. Brittany has designed some invites that we are going to send out soon. Together we've been redesigning this website (now with https!). For the first time in a very long time wedding planning is becoming fun again.

One unanticipated advatage to delaying our date is that last summer Erica (Jacob's sister) got married out in the columbia valley. Her wedding was beautiful and went really smoothly, but we still got to learn some do's and don'ts from her experience that we will take forward into ours.

(Congrats Erica and John)

Previously we were also worried about getting Jacob's parents' backyard completely ready in time for the wedding. This shouldn't be a problem anymore as Glen has been manicuring and expanding the lawn over the last 3 years now. Their yard and cabin is already in amazing shape!

(Pups approve of the lawn)

A Summer Full of Landscaping

Posted on September 24, 2020

Hello again,

After a busy summer of landscaping and getting the place all ready for the wedding we’d love to show you what we’ve been up to!

Check out our summer of work. Huge thanks to Sue and Glen for hosting us most of the summer and Glen for continuing the work while we weren't there.

During the first trip we had out to the valley we built a patio in the back yard. The view is amazing out there so it's where we are planning to have the ceremony. Thank you Erica and John for helping us with this project. Work here isn't done yet though. We are going to need you back next spring to finish it off.

On the next trip we laid the bricks for the front walkway. We feel really good about how the front has turned out.

During our last trip we worked on adding an edge to the side of the cabin. Now that the side is prepped Glen is growing grass all along the side so it is ready for next year.

Covid still sucks, and organizing a wedding for a second time isn't the best, but we think the venue will be even better next year than it could have been this year!

One more summer of work and this place will be even more picturesque.

A note on COVID-19

Hi all,

We wanted to post an update as well as release our work in progress website. With everything going on in the world planning a wedding is no easy task and we've been struggling with it for the past couple months.

Only recently did we finally make the difficult decision to postpone our celebration to next year. It's a heartbreaking choice to say the least but it is not worth putting the health and safety of our loved ones at risk. A wedding is, after all, a party and we want to be able celebrate with all of you.

This pandemic has caused a lot of extra wedding stress for us but we know that we are not alone in feeling stressed right now. We have both been lucky enough to keep our jobs though all of this; many have not been so lucky. We hope that everyone is doing well to get through these tough times and we thank you for sticking with us!

Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you want to talk. We will do our best to post here with updates as well as a new date when we have it.
